Another Georgia stationed Army Soldier, Mr. Vanderburg brought in his 2003 Lancer Evolution GSR to us to install a walbro fuel pump, external dumped O2 housing, and a Old style GReddy Profec boost controller on his car before the dynotuning began. Mr. Vanderburg acquired his parts through various secondary market channels, scoring himself a few upgrade parts to add to his 4g63 engine.
Once we cleared out the other few Evo's ahead of him in the schedule, we got to work installing his fuel pump and O2 housing. We are not sure who made the 02 housing, however apparently it was in use on another car before his. It appears that they may not have been using power steering on that car, because the park did not fit very well and had to be manipulated to clear the PS pump. Once that was done and the GReddy profec was in. (the one with the three knobs), my tech had mentioned that he has only ever seen about 1.3-1.5 bar of boost able to come out of these older units.
In testing on the dyno it appeared that he was correct. The maximum boost able to be achieved using the controller without any added custom boost pill restrictors was about 20-21psi. With that boost level met, coupled with other mods such as an BR FMIC and LICP, three inch exhaust and Apexi intake, the car was tuned to 282whp/278tq @ 1.00 uncorrected Mustang Dyno numbers.
