Speed Density on Stock ECU discussion

Speed density stock ECU might be a fad.

We have been working with the Evo since 2004. We have tested a ton of parts and setups. One of which was Speed-Density on the stock ECU.

In the past we have used it with the MAFTPro which has a speed density option as the stock MAF sensor was rumored to be a restriction in the intake system.

Fast forward to today. We now have Evo's with 700whp on stock MAF. Mellon and Myself have done it, with an epoxied maf you can get very far.

We have tuned Ryu's car on stock ECU speed density per his request, but it is our belief that there is no benefit on a stock frame turbo car.

Front facing turbokits may be the only beneficial setup worth doing it on as there is no room for a maf and intake filter on front facing turbokits. Furthermore the air pushing from the front of the car will add a few psi of boost in a "ram-air" setup.

Fact of the matter is that cars will always drive better on a MAF sensor and be more repeatable.

MAF Translator blow through users are the last people to ever need it as there are no benefits.

I see you were responding to TTP but I will chime in here.

The first time I rode my bicycle when I was 5 years old I was excited and told all my friends at pre-school about it! Bicycles and riding them was not new to the world, but it was new to me and I was excited that I figured out how to pedal my left leg, and then my right leg and then repeat the process.

I made sure to brag and tell all of my friends at pre-school about it and thought I was cool. After I turned 10 years old I was riding dirtbikes, ATV's, motorcycles and jetski's and realized that riding a bike was just cool because I just learned how to do it.
