The answer is NO!
We have tuned literally thousands of Evo's worldwide, have flown out or traveled to Anchorage, Alaska, Fayetteville, NC, Sayville, NY, Milwaukee, WI, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Miami, Tampa in person.
We have tuned Europe, Austrailia, Chile, Dominica, Germany, Dubai, Guam, Columbia, Hawaii, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, UK, Poland, Japan, Russia, Finland and Turkey, Bahamas remotely.
Not once out of this global mass of Evo's have we ever disabled a knock sensor.
Despite our "competition's" poor attempts to lie to the public and claim they have seen a map of ours without a knock sensor enabled, its simply not true.
You cannot turn off a knock sensor on an Evo, nor have we done so.
My assumption is that they are so far from having a clue what they are even looking at that they are probably playing in the "knock filters" section of the ECU mapping which has long been determined to do absolutely nothing.
Its funny reading some of the things our competition say. I remember our ZChip product which was available before ECU reflashing was available for the Evo X. We made up to 107whp with it over stock. Customer cars were averaging 65-85whp gains.
Our competition begged one of our customers to come down to their dyno and measure their whp for free and remove their Buschur Exhaust system which was causing a CEL. They told our customer that they had a buyer there for our customer's exhaust.
Well this backfired in their face when the car put down about 76whp over stock despite the exhaust removed from the car and put back to stock. They thought they were going to make a mockery of the tune and demonstrate that it did not work.
Boy were they wrong. They tried figuring out what the zchip was, what it did, how it worked and measured everything from boost to AFR trying to wrap their little minds around how our ZChip worked. When they failed and the customer wanted to leave, they did not even give him the dynosheet which demonstrated their true intentions. Furthermore they gave him back the exhaust and told him that they really did NOT have a buyer for his exhaust which told our customer that he was set-up by them.
Shortly thereafter realizing that the ZChip product worked as described and they had no angle to degrade it with, since it literally put down the numbers right in front of their face on the dyno they started claiming that we disable knock sensors.
This was comical and just shows how uneducated people are, as well as the levels our competitors stoop to in order to try and sway buyers from obtaining a great product with their lies.
Unfortunately for the public, they have started with their lies again stating that we disable knock sensors which is infantile and incorrect.
It has never been done and never will be done. Period.
Sorry for the rant, however hopefully this clears a few things up.
