Just received word from my buddies down south that AWD Motorsports within 50 miles, blew through two headgaskets before the third failure, suffering CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE after the 1st pass the car ever made on the new Buschur 2.4L with MIVEC Evo IX head
I guess when you spend $50,000 to try and break a dyno record with a one pass wonder and it blows up after the first pass, is that something to brag about?
I would rather see a reliable build that a customer can actually see themselves in that will make it down the track more than once.
If you blow two headgaskets before the car even leaves the dyno and then blow the engine after one pass at the track, what are you actually proving? Besides the fact that you can't build anything reliable, can't keep it together and just want to brag about your POS with 4.11 gear ratio, lie about having an aftermarket final drive and show the world how awesome your tuner is that the car cannot even make it one pass before blowing the engine.
If that is the goal, you succeded. But you failed when you thought that you could tell the public that "you could not get the timing belt tension correct on the motor" which is why we did not run the car again after the first pass and engine failure.
Its hard to get the timing belt tension correct when you have spun your rod bearings and blown a hole in the side of the block![]()
